The fiber recoating process restores the buffer coating to your stripped fiber, offering more flexibility compared to a heat-shrink protection sleeve, enabling that it is handled and coiled without damaging the fusion-spliced section. The integrated linear or rotary proof tester allows users to right away test a recoated fiber with a pre-determined load and find out the long-term longevity of the fiber. We offer both high-index (Item # AB950200) and low-index (Item # PC373) recoat materials to use during these recoaters. Recoaters with manual injection pumps (Item #s PTR206B and PTR307B) are suitable for both kinds of recoat material; all other recoaters are appropriate for the top-index material only. Proof Tester Options – The PTR206, PTR206B, and PTR208 Fiber Recoaters have an integrated linear proof tester, which takes the fiber up to and including predetermined load (20 N) and after that releases it. The linear proof tester uses uojthk same fiber holding blocks as the recoater and therefore the fiber will not need to be moved before testing. The PTR307 and PTR307B Fiber Recoaters include an integrated rotary proof tester, which could perform both proof and tension tests (?89 N).
